The Giving Tree Gallery is a family-owned and operated business with galleries in downtown Sarasota, Florida and on the world-renowned St. Armands Circle in Sarasota. Originally founded in the Chicago area, the family relocated with the business to Sarasota in 1994 fed up with snow scrapers and unrelenting gray skies. Gorgeous gulf views, year round average temperature of 71 degrees and a city rich with art and culture replaced the northern dreariness. Sarasota has experienced tremendous growth over the last three decades, receiving top honors such as: "#1 Best Town to Visit in America" (2026 - CNN) "#1 Best Beach in the USA, #4 in the World" (Tripadvisor 2025) and "#11 Best Place to Live in the US" (2024 - US News & World Report) and St. Armands Circle was recognized as one of the "Top 10 Best Shopping Centers in the U.S." (2025 - USA Today Readers' Choice Awards). The Giving Tree Gallery is honored to have grown with it.

The Giving Tree Gallery began as The Giving Tree Wood Gallery –exclusively all wood handmade products. The daughter of an architect and artist, Debi had a trained eye for high design and well executed forms of artistic expression.

In the early days, the gallery was called: "The Giving Tree Wood Gallery" and offered mostly handcrafted wooden items, made in America.

For years these customized shelves held a variety of incredible artful home décor in the Sarasota store. They once held everything from beautiful burl wood bowls to unique Menorahs to colorful lazy susans.

The Giving Tree Gallery opens a gallery in a city they fell madly in love with - New Orleans! A city wrought with art and music, diverse culture and rich history, there is no place like New Orleans. The gallery is located on Chartres Street right outside Jackson Square in the French Quarter.

A second location in New Orleans opens in a prime location on Royal Street - in the heart of the French Quarter's shopping district.

The Sarasota gallery gets a make over in anticipation of its 25th year on St. Armands Circle. A clean, modern aesthetic provides the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous jewelry and works of art.

Hurricane Helene hit September 26, 2024 and brought unprecedented flooding to St. Armands Circle.

St. Armands Circle submerged by the historic storm surge that devasted the island in 2024. The gallery, along with all the businesses on The Circle, was inundated by at least 4 feet of water.

2 weeks later, another hurricane - Milton - hits the island amidst the cleanup effort. Our gallery faced extensive damage, beginning a long process of cleanup, rebuilding, and renewal.
